Holbrook and Culcairn Multipurpose Services powering ahead

Two major milestones were announced today for both the Holbrook Multipurpose Service (MPS) and the Culcairn MPS.

The Holbrook MPS will be completed prior to Christmas, ahead of schedule. The updated Holbrook MPS has retained the current buildings and expanded the aged care wings to provide new residential aged care beds. An official opening will take place early next year once commissioning has been completed.

Work on the redevelopment of the Culcairn MPS site will progress from planning to delivery. Tenders have now been called for and the winning contract will be awarded in early 2017, with construction to follow. The redevelopment of the Culcairn MPS is an important achievement for Culcairn and the surrounding communities. The Culcairn MPS will include the construction of a new building that will complement the existing Kiltearn House Residential Aged Care facility which will be retained.

The Culcairn and Holbrook MPS projects are part of a greater $300 million program of works to upgrade existing or build new MPS facilities in a number of rural and remote communities across NSW.

The MPS model tailors healthcare needs for the local community by integrating health, aged care services, and emergency services, to provide flexible health service delivery – from primary health care to acute and residential aged care.
