The Tumbarumba project was officially opened on 1 March 2021 by Justin Clancy MP.

Tumbarumba MPS opens doors to the public

In July 2019, a major milestone was marked at Tumbarumba, with the opening of a large portion of the new redevelopment including new Residential Aged Care beds, acute inpatient beds and community health facilities.

The final stage of works included the refurbishment of the existing areas of the facility that will remain, along with work to the new entrance and car parking.

The two-storey MPS project included:
  • A new acute inpatient wing
  • Refurbishment of the existing residential aged care building
  • A new residential aged care wing
  • Expanded Emergency Department including two resuscitation bays and consultation/triage rooms
  • New and expanded Community Health area
  • Lounge for families of Palliative Care and other patients
  • New staff accommodation.
