July 2020

Marking a major milestone in the $8 million redevelopment of Yass Hospital, the new Emergency Department (ED) has now commenced operations.

The new ED delivers a dedicated ambulance entry point and an additional emergency department treatment bay.

Once completed, the redeveloped health facility will include 24-hour access to emergency care, an additional ED treatment bay, dedicated ambulance entry point, patient beds increased from 10 to 12, improved community and allied health facilities and ongoing access to X-ray services.

It is anticipated the final components of work will be completed by October 2020.

The Yass Hospital Redevelopment is being delivered as part of the Governments $304 million Multipurpose Service (MPS) program to deliver improved access to health and aged care services in rural and remote communities.
